Exhibits

As the preservers of the history of Apopka, we have collected many artifacts and documents which are arranged in several rooms.
In our lobby you can see an antique bookkeeping machine, original city charter, a victrola, a Methodist Quilt, a graduation dress with diploma and pictures circa 1900.
Our library is filled with scrapbooks, maps, newspaper clippings, photographs and other printed materials which are available for research projects.
The meeting room contains an old school desk, pictures of early families and homes, and an old pot belly stove.
Our domestic room contains an old foot peddle sewing machine, wood cook stove, bath tub, canning items, butter chums, milk bottles, irons, depression glass, household items and clothing of the early 1900s.
The Indian and industry room has an ample collection of carpentry, cobbler, beekeeping tools, and old lanterns. In the Indian area you will find an Indian canoe found buried in the muck of Lake Apopka, pottery, arrowheads and Seminole dress.
The Cattle area has saddles, branding irons, cowbells and other items relating to the cattle industry. The citrus area displays old box stencils, wine making machinery and packing paraphernalia. Also on display are pictures and murals of Clay Springs (now Wekiva Springs) and Rock Springs.
In the farming and logging room are found saws and other unusual logging tools as well as old farm tools, a com grinder and a handmade chest made in Sweden in the early 1900s.

Many new items are being cataloged and added to the collection on a regular basis.
